Northwest Indiana Community Organizations Active in Disaster

Better known as COAD, this humanitarian association of independent voluntary organizations and individuals actively provides coordination of service and logistics to people affected by disaster.

NWI COAD prepares to respond to disasters sharing programs, policies, information, joint planning and training. It is active in all phases of emergency management (mitigation, prevention, preparedness, response and recovery). It is committed to providing area-wide disaster coordination for long-term recovery.

NWI COAD works in conjunction with the District 1 Planning Committee and Northern Indiana Information Securities and Sharing Alliance to coordinate disaster preparedness trainings in the area.

The NWI COAD serves Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Newton, and Jasper Counties.
